My name is Dr. Shafa Amirsoltani, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Shahid Beheshti University in Iran. I pursued my passion for dentistry, earning a DDS degree from Northwestern Dental School after relocating to Chicago, USA. This marked the beginning of my journey into the field of dentistry.
I embarked on a multifaceted career, simultaneously working as a clinical instructor at Northwestern University Dental School and practicing general dentistry in the Chicago area. It was during this time that I discovered my true calling – to help people maintain their oral health and enhance their overall well-being. I firmly believe that oral health is a vital component of overall health, and I am unwavering in my commitment to providing the highest quality dental care to my patients.
My dedication to dentistry extends beyond my practice. For over two decades, I have been deeply involved in organized dentistry, serving in various leadership roles within the American Dental Association (ADA), the Illinois Dental Society (ISDS), and the Chicago Dental Society (CDS). These positions have allowed me to advocate for public health initiatives and support my fellow dental professionals.
Furthermore, I have always been passionate about humanitarian efforts. To fulfill this commitment, I have volunteered in numerous Mission of Mercy initiatives and taken a leading role in various charitable organizations. In 2018, I extended my reach by becoming a board member of the Iranian American Medical Association (IAMA) and played a pivotal role in establishing the Dental section. Human rights advocacy has been one of my core objectives, and I am proud to have contributed to this cause through my profession.
Subsequently, I resigned from my position at IAMA for different reasons but found fulfillment in being one of the founders of the Persian American Medical Association (PAMA). PAMA is a platform that combines scientific, educational, and humanitarian aspects while advocating for basic human rights and public health.
My role as a founder of PAMA underscores my unwavering dedication to supporting the Iranian American community and championing fundamental human rights and public health. I firmly believe in creating a collaborative environment where healthcare professionals can come together, exchange knowledge, and work towards shared goals. PAMA’s focus on science, education, and advocacy closely aligns with my personal values, and I am enthusiastic about contributing to its continued growth and success.
In summary, armed with my extensive education, years of experience, and an unyielding enthusiasm for making a positive impact, I am eager to play a crucial role in advancing PAMA’s mission. This mission includes promoting healthcare, advocating for human rights, supporting our dedicated professionals, defending fundamental human rights, and enhancing public health. I look forward to embarking on this meaningful journey with like-minded professionals who share the same vision.
