Dear members and friends of PAMA,

During last month we broadcast another webinar on Sjogren’s syndrome, which was perceived very enthusiastically by some of the members and friends. We are trying hard to deliver as many scientific webinars as possible. Based on the interest we have seen, and many of our friends work on Saturdays, we have decided to increase the number of webinars from once a month to every two weeks, and we are going to change the day from last Saturday of the month to 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, starting from October 2024.

The first 2 of the added webinars will be presented by Dr. Saidi on:

“Contribution of the Iranian scientists to world’s science”. This is in 2 parts: part 1 is scheduled for Sunday October 13th, and part 2 is scheduled for Sunday, November 17th. 

This month’s webinar will be on Saturday, August 31st on:

“Fundamentals of intervention radiology by Dr. Masoud Allahyari”. This topic is very interesting, and has revolutionized many fields of medicine, especially surgery, and I highly recommend listening to this webinar.

The funders unanimously like to have more members engage in the PAMA activities, including in the interim Board of Directors (BoD) activities. We would like to have 3 member-at- large to join us with our monthly meetings, which will be the second Thursday of every month at 8 pm EST. This is an opportunity for members who would like to participate in the future board election of PAMA which makes them aware of the business and management of PAMA and will get them to be known to the rest of PAMA’s membership.

We invite volunteers for the following committees:

1. Membership committee 
2. Mentorship committee 
3. Website committee 
4. Scientific committee 
5. Scholarship committee 
6. Marketing committee 
7. Social media committee 

Dr. Mohammad Reza Moein already has volunteered for Social media committee and we welcome his joining the board.

As we grow larger, we invite young student groups to join PAMA and we will help them to get ready for their future dreams. 

As you can see, to reach to these ambitious goals we need more manpower, and this only can happen through our collective effort to increase the membership. So, I humbly ask each of our members not to be shy to ask their friend to become member of PAMA.
